In honor of Thanksgiving and because it was such a short day, it was the perfect day for the Superstars to get cooking!! We practiced reading and following a recipe, discussed fractions and how we use them to measure and of course made and enjoyed a special treat! Every student had a chance to lend a hand in our cooking project and they were delighted! The pumpkin pudding turned out to be absolutely delicious!! Before digging in, we said how we were thankful for all the learning we have done so far this year, then we enjoyed every bite. We even got a little bonus whipped cream. :) The students also used the recipe as a chance to practice their functional text test taking skills with a little quiz on the back. I hope all the superstar chefs and their families have a lovely Thanksgiving and enjoy some quality time together over the break. In case you are interested, I sent the recipe home with the kids and am uploading it to the newsletter page on the website. Happy cooking! :)
